What is Lead Free?
The reduction of lead in Drinking Water Act requires that all fittings, valves and fixtures which come in contact with potable water must meet the lead free standard. It means the weighted average (measured by wet surface) of lead content is less than 0.25 percent.
Advantage of Using Pex Fittings & Valves
Advantages of Pex fittings and valves include their cost effectiveness, flexibility, and durability when compared to traditional copper fitting alternatives. Due to the flexibility of pex, a standard installation will require less connections than if the same installation was performed using traditional copper pipe and fittings. Consequently, having fewer connections requirement means less fittings and lower labor cost. Also, with fewer fittings in the system there is less leak potential.
